Epic Fail - we all have one once in a while. Mine was using the Blending Brushes on the Layered Floral 3D Embossing Folder

I was so excited to use the Layered Floral 3D Embossing Folder from the January-April 2024 Mini Catalog (page 65). One of the Stampin' Up! Artisan had posted a darling card idea, and I couldn't wait to try it.  It called for coloring the raised impressions made with the Layered Floral 3D Embossing Folder with the small blending brushes and Bubble Bath ink.  "I can do that!" I said to myself confidently.  I had a great time using Lemon Lolly Cardstock and Designer Series Paper and using my Lemon Lolly Blends on the flowers.  I enjoyed using Bubble Bath ink and a small blending brush on the larger raised florals.  I had fun selecting the bird images from the Flight & Airy Designer Series Paper and fussy cutting them for my card.  It looked great under the bright lights on my work table.  In fact I went over the Bubble Bath florals several times as they just didn't look dark enough under the lights of  my work table.  However, when I moved my cards to my photo area to photographed my cards for my blog post, I was shocked at how bright the colors appeared in my photographs!  I clearly did NOT need to got over the floral images multiple times with the blending brush...less is more.  And my Lemon Lolly Blends, which were brand new, out of the package, were also much brighter than necessary, even though I used the Light rather than Dark Lemon Lolly Blend.  Ha!  That's how you learn.  Experiment, experiment and experiment some more!  Reminder:  Just 5 more weeks to earn  items during Sale-A-Bration 2024. The basecard for this card is Thick Basic White Cardstock.  Then, a layer of Bubble Bath Cardstock as a Matte to another layer of Thick Basic White Cardstock.  I wanted to ensure that the embossing from the Layered Floral 3D Embossing Folder stood out so I used Thich Basic White rather than just Basic White Cardstock.  After running the Thick Basic White Cardstock layer through the Stampin' Up! Emboss and Cut Machine with the Layered Floral 3D Embossing Folder, I colored the raised images.  I used a small Blending Brush and Bubble Bath ink pad to color the larger florals.  I used Light Lemon Lolly Blends and light Granny Apply Green, for the smaller florals and the leaves.  And I used used Bubble Bath Blends for the centers of the small florals.  I used the Stylish Shapes Dies to die cut a stitched Circle to use in layering my images.   

To finish this card, I cut a piece of Lemon Lolly Cardstock to use as a matte for a striped print from the Lighter Than Air 6" X 6" Designer Series Paper.  I selected a couple of birds on branches images from the Flight & Airy 12" X 12" Designer Series Paper and fussy cut them and popped them up on Dimensionals.  I also used die cuts from the Lifetime of Love Dies to die cut some Basic White florals to add under my bird images. I trimmed these die cuts to use pieces for my card. I layered these dies cuts and the bird images onto the die cut Stitched Circle and added the circle to my card.   Finally, I selected a Birthday Wish from the Stippled Roses Stamp Set and stamped the sentiment using Boho Blue ink onto a strip of Basic White cardstock.  I added Mini Dimensionals to the back of the sentiment and added it to my card.
