Vintage airplanes inspire adventurous scenes for creative greeting cards

Vintage bi-planes, clouds, land maps and metal trinkets provide inspiration for greeting card creativity.   Aviation images from the Adventurous Sky Stamp Set and Dies from the Take To The Sky Suite Collection help you create adventurous scenes you'll find useful for birthday cards, Father's Day cards or cards to let someone special know you're thinking of them.  This card is a Reverse Panel Fold Card you'll find easy to recreate and fun to give.  The color theme for this card is Smoky Slate, Nighty of Navy and Basic White.  Texture is created using the Metal Plate 3D Embossing Folder on the back panel plus the silver antiqued Industrial Trinkets embellishments as accents.  This card is designed with an inside panel for additional images and sentiments. Thanks to fellow Demonstrator Meg Loven from LovenStamps.com for the inspiration for this card.

The basecard for today's card is 11" X 4-1/4" Smoky Slate Cardstock, scored at 5-1/2" on the long side.  Then, the left panel is cut diagonally from top to bottom.  Using the Metal Plate 3D Embossing Folder, Dry Emboss the back Smoky Slate Cardstock Panel. Using a piece of Take to the Sky 12" X 12' Designer Series Paper, cut a 5-1/2" X 4-1/4" panel, and cut it diagonally along the long side.  Use it to cover the font and the inside of the Smoky Slate Cardstock diagonal front panel. 

 

Then create the reverse fold element. Cut a panel of Night of Navy Cardstock 8-1/2" X 3-1/4", scored at 4-1/4".  Cut a sentiment panel of Basic White cut slightly larger than 4" X 3".  Stamp the largest cloud image in Smoky Slate onto the panel, and adhere the stamped panel to the Night of Navy panel as pictured below.  Center the Night of Navy Panel onto the back Smoky Slate panel ensuring that the left panel closes over it.

Next, decorate the front of the Night of Navy Cardstock Panel.  Select a map print from the Take to The Sky 12" X 12" Designer Series Paper, and cut a piece slightly larger than 4" X 3" to adhere to the Night of Navy Cardstock.  Stamp the largest cloud on Basic White Cardstock with Smoky Slate Ink, and die cut it with the largest cloud die from Adventurous Dies.  Adhere to the map print.   Die Cut the largest airplane in the Adventurous Dies from Night of Navy and Smoky Slate Cardstock. Glue the two piece of the airplane together avoiding glue on the piece that don't overlap.  Add dimensionals to the airplane, and add to the front panel. You can also decorate the diagonal panel under the front panel.  On Basic white Cardstock stamp one of the smaller airplane images.  Die cut with the corresponding Adventurous Die, and adhere to the diagonal panel.

To finish the card, select one of the sentiments from the Adventurous Sky Stamp Set.  Die cut a sentiment layer using one of the dies that fits your sentiment from the Everyday Details Dies, which includes both circles and rectangles in multiple sizes.  Stamp your selected sentiment using Smoky Slate ink on the the Basic White sentiment.  Add Dimensionals to the back, and adhere it to your card.    Add  Glue Dots to the back of the Industrial Trinkets you are adding as embellishments to your card.
